Using my God given gift to help patients surgically and spiritually.
I was born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut. I attended Fairfield University (in Connecticut) where I received as B.S. in Biology (1978). I went on to earn my medical degree at Georgetown University (1982). From there I moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I received my residency training in Neurosurgery at Emory University (1988). Following my residency I served in the US Navy as a neurosurgeon, part of which was spent aboard the USNS Mercy during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After discharge from the Navy I began my practice of neurosurgery in Florida, in the Tampa Bay area (1992).
While a resident, I became self absorbed with my surgical skill and my ability to deftly maneuver through the human brain. As sacrilegious as it sounds I came to look upon myself as a god.
It would only be years later, that with my wife's help that I would find myself closer to my faith and truly appreciative that my talents were God-given. Since that time my patients who have fought through terminal brain cancer have taught me the importance of relying on God for all things.
It is these stories and the lessons they have taught me I would like to share.
